Our Team
Edward F. Yazbak, CPA, MST
Bachelor of Science - Business Administration - (BSBA) Bryant College - December 1980. Masters of Science - Taxation - (MST) Bryant College - June 1995. Passed the November 1982 Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam. CPA Certificate awarded by the State of Rhode Island in March 1983. Cert. # 1420. Started career with Christiansen & Co. based in Woonsocket, RI, which at the time was the largest independent CPA firm in New England. C & Co merged with Ernst & Ernst in 1983, E & E was fourth largest CPA firm in the world at the date of the merger. Formed Yazbak & Company in 1985 specializing in accounting and tax services to privately owned business and their owners. Currently, Yazbak & Company serves over 225 businesses & 950 individual clients from their office location in Branch Village, North Smithfield, RI.
Doris A. Connor, CPA
Doris (a/k/a Dorrie) joined Yazbak & Company in January of 2004. Doris has a Bachelor of Science - Accounting (BSA) degree from the University of Rhode Island graduating in December 1988. Doris passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam in November 1993. Doris was awarded a CPA Certificate by the State of Rhode island in February 2003. Certificate # 3225. Doris started her career with the CPA firm of Piccerelli, Gilstein & Co. in Providence, worked with Fox CPAs in Pawtucket and was the corporate controller for Laser Fare, Inc. a privately owned company in Smithfield for a number of years. Doris has the experience of public and private accounting which enables her to serve our privately owned business clients from both perspectives. Doris understands the roles and responsibilities of a client company's internal accounting staff, while servicing these clients from a public accounting standpoint.
Debra A. Houle
Debra started at Yazbak & Company in the fall of 1995 and has over 40 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, in public accounting, specializing in small privately owned companies. Debra has extensive training, knowledge and experience in Quickbooks, Excel & Word as well as the firm's specialized accounting, depreciation and tax software provided by Creative Solutions, Inc. Debra is in charge of the support staff and is the Firm's "go to" person supporting the CPAs as they service our clients on a day-to-day basis. Debra is responsible for all payroll & payroll related services for clients. Debra is known as a "para-professional" in the industry, a person who possess skills and education that puts her in between a bookkeeper and professional staff member.
Susan R. Rochefort
Sue started with Yazbak & Company in early 1996 and works in the bookkeeping department. Sue also has the heavy responsibilities in tax season with data entry and validation on individual income tax returns. Sue has an Associates Degree in Business Administration from the Community College of Rhode Island. Sue provides bookkeeping services to our clients and has experience with Quickbooks, Excel & Word and has started to acquire knowledge of the Creative Solutions software.
Donna M. Yazbak
Donna is the "professional" word processor of the firm and is responsible for typing and processing all formal financial statements that clients submit to lending and financial institutions. Donna also assists in firm administration duties, including client invoicing and time tracking for employees, appointment scheduling, etc. The first face you usually see when entering the front door, is Donna.
